La Sportiva TX Hike GTX Womens

Designed for fast hiking and technical approach routes, the La Sportiva TX Hike GTX Womens is part of new generation of waterproof approach shoe. In the development of this popular shoe, La Sportiva have combined their knowledge of traditional approach shoes with the technology of their mountain running range – the result is a fast and light, yet sturdy and durable approach shoe.

As you would expect from La Sportiva, the TX Hike is a superbly well made shoe. Incredibly, it is created from 65% recycled material – including the laces, insole, sole and upper. La Sportiva have really gone to town in sourcing the recycled materials, in particular the new Gore-Tex Extended Comfort Membrane, which is made from end-of-life plastics and is Bluesign certified. The compression EVA midsole is partially recycled, and provides a reliable and comfortable support system to the foot for all day wear. The shape of the women’s shoe is also slightly different to the men’s version – moulded to the morphology of the female foot.

The sole is made from Vibram Eco Step Evo – which is a compound created from at least 30% recycled rubber material, further improving the shoes eco credentials. The heel features the La Sportiva ‘Impact Brake System’ which puts as many lugs as possible in a small area to absorb impact, but arranged in such a way that there are plenty of sides to the lugs to act as a brake, giving better traction on rough ground.
